A Reliable Interstate Removalist Company

Our trucks are available for moves across QLD, NSW and VIC. Not only can we assist with your move between these states, but we can also take your goods further afield.

At Twin Towns Removals, we're based in Forster, which allows us to provide reliable interstate removal services across coastal and rural NSW, QLD and VIC. For example, Sydney, Newcastle and Port Macquarie residents can call on us for both residential and commercial moving services

Wagga, Albury, Bathurst and Orange customers can also depend on us. We offer our packing and removalist services for any rural NSW relocation so that their possessions safely and efficiently reach their new destination.

One of the features that sets us apart from the rest is our high level of transit insurance. Many of our clients have high-value possessions and value the reassurance that, should the worst happen, we have appropriate cover (up to $300,000) in place to reimburse any losses they might sustain. Particularly when house contents are being moved interstate, the knowledge that a suitable level of transit insurance is in place is always reassuring.

We know that moving can be stressful and complicated, but we can handle every step of the process, from packing and labelling boxes to assembling furniture. We regularly undertake interstate moves so we have an efficient and successful process that removes all of the stress of packing and moving heavy furniture interstate.

What Does Our Comprehensive Interstate Removal Service Include?

  • Provision of packing materials (such as tape, boxes, bubble wrap etc)
  • A packing service
  • Furniture dismantling
  • Movement of goods from your home or business onto the truck
  • Transfer of goods to a new location, including storage if required
  • Movement of goods from the truck to their new home
  • Unpacking goods in their new location (including reassembling furniture), if required

Our interstate removalist service can be tailored to meet your specific needs: for example, many people prefer to pack their goods themselves, leaving them ready to be loaded onto the truck.

We can also transport awkward or extra-large objects (such as pianos), as well as extremely fragile goods or goods that need special handling.

If you have particular concerns regarding the transport of specific objects, get in touch and we'll be happy to advise.

Don't Forget Interstate Backloading

When we travel interstate with a load, we obviously don't want to come back with an empty truck. That's why we also offer backloading where we will move your goods from where we're dropping off, to a destination that's local to our Forster location.

Customers will have less flexibility of dates and times when using a backloading option, but if you want a high-quality removalist service for an affordable price, it's worth getting in touch to see if we've got a backloading vacancy in your area.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How should I prepare for my interstate moving service?

Ensuring you are packed and ready to go will save time and labour costs. You can either pre-book a packing service from our experienced team or carry out the packing yourself.

  • Do you have any interstate packing tips?

If you are packing yourself, there are a few things you can do that will expedite your interstate move and also make things more simple when you arrive at your destination. It is recommended that you use proper packing boxes and label them with your name, new address, contact number and the room the box belongs in. Ensure packing peanuts or bubble wrap is placed between fragile items.

Do not overload boxes with heavy items or the bottom may give way when it is moved. When the boxes are packed and labelled, place them all in the centre of the room.

  • Should I disassemble furniture before moving?

Taking apart any furniture that can disassemble will assist with the moving process and take up less room in the truck, helping to drive down costs. Ensure all of the nuts and bolts etc are stored in a secure zip lock bag and taped to the furniture so they don't get lost.

  • What happens if I have too much furniture for one truck?

When you first make your booking, we will get a detailed idea of the possessions you have and how much space will be required. If there is not enough room in our truck (which is extremely rare) then we can check the schedule and see if it is possible for a second trip to be made. Otherwise, we can work with you on ways to reduce the volume of possessions going in the truck and that can travel with you in a hire trailer or another solution.

  • Do you move plants interstate?

We know that many people become attached to their potted plants and they are an important part of their interior design. Unfortunately, they are difficult to secure and can carry a range of insects and pests that can damage other materials in transit. There are different quarantine rules at each border as well that can impact the transport of certain flora. It is best to purchase new potted plants at your new destination.

  • How long does an interstate move take?

Because of the packing, travel and other arrangements, the overall process can take up to three weeks, depending on your destination. The closer the destination, the less time it will take. We will always endeavour to have your possessions at your new home as soon as possible, without breaking laws or safety regulations like sleeping requirements.

  • Should I take out insurance for an interstate move?

All of our removalists are highly trained and experienced. They will take the utmost care when moving your possessions and all due care will be taken. Unfortunately, accidents beyond our control can still happen. During the removal process, your home and contents insurance will not cover your possessions. Taking out insurance is your protection against freak accidents that can occur despite the best efforts of our skilled and professional removalists.

  • Are there any items that cannot be packed on an interstate removalist truck?

This is mostly common sense, but any potentially dangerous or illegal items should not be packed. Some potentially dangerous items that people commonly forget include things like the gas bottle for the BBQ or heaters, paints, the fuel can for the lawnmower (which should also be drained of fuel) and flammable materials like nail polish remover and lighter fluid.

It is a good idea to not pack any perishable food either as it can be a nasty surprise when it arrives at your destination. Valuables like jewellery and cash should travel with you as well, not in the removalist truck.
